Sweden / Ronneby

Gymnasieskolan Knut Hahn in Ronneby, Blekinge is a public Upper Secondary School. It was built in the end of 1960, but after the renovation and reconstruction in 2004 it is now one of the most modern schools in Sweden. The school has approximately 700 students of the ages 16-19, and also a section with education for adults. It offers a wide range of both theorethical, as well as vocational programmes.

The three prioritized areas of the school are: To make sure that all students complete their education/prevent early dropouts, entrepreneurship, and internationalisation with an increased knowledge of different languages. There are quite a high number of students who are immigrants and also students with special needs. The school is situated in a small town, with a high rate of unemployment, without any possibilities to finance any extra activities for students.
